Common Reasons for Denying Credit

Among the most common reasons people are turned down when they apply for credit are:

  • Too little time in current job or at current residence.
  • Too much outstanding debt.
  • Unreasonable purpose for requesting credit.
  • Cosigner cannot take on additional debt liability.
  • Errors on applicant's.
  • Strict creditor's standards.

NO WAY AROUND IT (the four C's of Credit)

Capacity

what is your ability to repay the loan? Do you have a job or another income source? Do you have other debts?
Character - will you repay the loan? Have you used credit before? Do you pay your bills on time?
Collateral

- if you fail to repay your loan, is there something of value that you agree to forfeit? For example, if you are buying your first car, it could be used as collateral to insure that you will repay the loan. If you default, you lose your car.

Capital (accumulation)

- what are you worth? Do you have other assets, such as a savings account, car, or certificate of deposit that could be used to repay the debt?

For us as black people we have to realize that we really are not in a race, In reality it is not about trying to catch up with other groups. The most important thing is to provide the best that you can for yourself and your family, not as competing against others, but sharing any knowledge that you may have to help each other grow. We know at times that our young people will not listen, this is why the internet is such a great tool.

Black Prosperity do not have all the answers pertaining  to financial matters but maybe if you drop a line or give a suggestion to this web site maybe just maybe it may help them to try to establish a future for themselves. As many of us say we want our children to have what we didn't have "KNOWING is the foundation of Greatness"

So let your child see your pay check let them know how much is going toward rent food etc.. Don't talk at them but to them. It is a known fact within our communities that our income may not be the greatest but this is why we need to change our way of thinking. Being successful or educated is not acting white, it is something that each and everyone of use deserve no matter what occupation we hold peace and happiness and contentment is something that money can not buy, But money do make things a whole lot better.
